Recording Session at RCA

I was asked to record with a friend, Tim, for his friends recording project. We covered a Ben Harper song. It was really cool to go record at the RCA Studio. Just incase you didn't know; Elvis recorded there! Word! I get to tell my kids and grandkids that I recorded where Elvis recorded. Then they are going to look at me with this dumb look and say "Who is Elvis??", and at that point I will just ground them all! lol

But it was great to go there and do that. I enjoyed it. Can't wait to hear what it sounds like. Take care and much love....

Mainstay - These guys opened up the concert. They were pretty good. They sound like Building 429. The guitar player had a PRS! Fell in love at first sight! lol

The Wedding - WOW! I heard alot of this band from a couple of my friends, and they were right. This band is realy good. Like.."I want to buy the cd" really good!

Dizmas - Well...what can I say...Good old rock and roll! Good stuff!

I love rock concerts! Cause you know everyone is there for one reason...and you can make friends easy! Pics are up! You'll love them.

Song #1

Here is a song that I wrote. I don't know what to call it, but I think I have an idea. It's a secert though. Tell me what you think......

Seems like I get trapped every time I think of you
I hate this place but I love this feeling
Can't seem to make up my mind on what to do
I'll stay asleep to keep living in my dreams

This sound of silence breaks every window
This flash of light cast a shadow (that won't let go)
These words won't come out...so
I'll just let my heart melt (away)

It could be different at the other end of the line
but who will know if we both stay on mute *don't know if I should put "hold" instead of "mute"
Standing out in the cold just to see if I'm breathing
Arms Open
Eyes Closed
Ready to Fly
(Take me home)

Waiting on what will become of both of us
Watching the sun set and the moon rise
I'll just stand in awe of You

Any thoughts??

This week the trend.......

Recorded at Belmont this afternoon. It was great. I was asked to play with a friend, Jesse, and this band that wrote a song for his studio project. It's an awesome song. Take Skillet and Pillar, and put them together. That is what the song sounds like. I took my drum-set cause you guys remember how I was disappointed with the drum set there. So can't wait for that song to be done. Oh, about the other recording session, I will be getting a cd soon. So, hopefully I can put it up on my blogs. I got pros and cons of the recording session.

PROS: I got to record! I got alot of freedom on this song. The guys were cool with me throwing ideas for the song. Those guys rocked! Jon and some of my friends showed up too. (Jon, Tim, Alyssa, and Chansin) I thought it was cool of them to just come and watch. But whenever I looked behind me...there was like 15 people at the door. IT WAS NUTS! It was tight that some people stood there to watch and listen.

CONS: One thing I hate about being a drummer. The setting up the drum set and then tearing it down! And the bloody click track that keeps beeping and beeping! I know that I need to hear it and I tell them that I want it so loud that my hears will bleed..but I just wish I had the natural talent of keeping time and not rushing or slowing down. So...yeah...that's the only thing. After that...I am all good!

This weekend was good. I chilled with Jon and everyone else. Good times! Slowly starting to get to know everyone (don't really get to see them often cause they go to school)

My friend, Jamie, who works at the BEC and Tooth & Nail Recording Company, gave me the new Falling Up cd today that suppose to come out next year!!! I thought that was cool. I might be able to see them Thursday night. I heard that they put on a awesome show. The singer does back-flips and stuff. Good stuff!

Oh, and I recommend everyone to go buy the
Andy Davis cd. He is awesome! I am going to see him Friday night. I saw him once (thanks to Tim) and he was great. He played some songs with a full band, and the rest where just him and his guitar. But I heard that he does a mad show whenever he has a full band behind him on every song!

And talking about Tim, I will be recording with him this coming weekend. We will be covering a Ben Harper song. I like playing "smooth" songs. I just like the feeling of chilling while playing.

But tonight...oh my goodness....the weather is great! When you breathe...you see it! I love winter. I had my first cup of hot coco. Good stuff!

The Astros are sucking it up! These guys need to understand...they have been a team since 1962 and this is their first time going to the WORLD SERIES!!! LETS GO GUYES>>>GET WITH THE PROGRAM! (woah...wait...what am I doing!?! GO YANKESS!!! "

I think that is enough from me tonight. Take care and God Bless!

Fast and Simple

Got pics up of Relient K and Home!

Reason for not havinig alot of pic of Relient K...well...let's just say I snuck the camera in! But I got pics with most of the band.

Quick Review

Rufio was mad fast and good.

Relient K owned the show! They were awesome!

MxPx! What can I say...everyone needs some old school punk rock! Good band.

Going home was great. I needed it. Jon and I had fun on the way there....at home with all our family and friends....and on the way back. Got to see Shannon! WHOOP! and the aggie band march. Troy is huge and so is Tiger. Cookie is still a crump. And my brother got a pimp car! Going to take a pic of it whenever I go back home.

Now I am back in Nashville, and I got my hands pretty full. Working at Best Buy and recording with some friends at Belmont. Can't wait for that!

In the Begining......

There was a nice drive home. Shorter than we thought. Jon and I sang all in the begining of the trip. Artist from Avril to Moulin Rouge...Relient K to Maroon 5. Listened to a book on cd. Tell you what it is whenever we finish it. It's really good.

Oh...RELIENT K CONCERT ROCKED! I'll post and put pictures up later! Home is more important.

I told my mom (while we were leaving TN) that we decided to leave in the morning. It's a good thing I told her too...cause she was like..."Oh, thank you Edwin, I was going to stay up all night. It's good to hear that you are leaving in the morning! (I love my mom!) I called her a little befor Jon dropped me off, and I told her that we were just leaving TN and that I would see her that night around 7ish. Well....I got home...Jon and I put my stuff outside. My mom was dropping my little brother off at school. So I went inside to see the rest of the family. But my brothers were asleep and grandmother was in the shower. So...I saw Tiger and Cookie first! lol Tiger is beautiful and Cookie still a crump! But then I waited outside for my mom to come home. I saw her turning the corner and then she pulled up to the drive way! She was all smiles! Troy was with her cause he loves car rides. Mom was like "you punk...you said you weren't driving at night! (Slap)...now give me a hug!" Then I saw Troy! He was going nuts! He is so huge! I was trying to tell him to "come here" but he was going all over the place. I knelt down and he just jumped me! I missed him so much! He gave me alot of kisses! Went inside to see grandmother. She didn't realize it was me cause me and my brothers all look alike. But then she was soooo surprised! (Nobody knew that I was coming home but my mom...but yet...I still surprised her! WORD!) But grandmom gave me the biggest bear hug. I didn't know she was that strong!

So...already did some stuff. I'll blog about it later. I AM HOME!!!!!

Later!

The only thing I have to say about this.....

Retarded....just retarded!

"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to Love, and be Loved in return.......

....But I know about art and Love, if only because I long for it with every fiber of my being."

Something needs to go here....but I don't know what

Things are going better around here. I've been hanging out with my good friend, Jon, alot. We went to see Corpse Bride. (Really good movie) Tim Burton is awesome and so is Danny Elfman. Danny Elfman has done the music for many films. Many of them you might not know...but here are a few:

Well, I was going to type alot of them for you, but you can go
HERE and see them all.

All of those were Tim Burton movies as well.

Thanks to Kevin Jones...I wouldn't know about
Danny Elfman. And I am not playing...this man has done alot of movies. Check them out. You will be surprised whenever you see how many and what movies/shows he has done.

I watched "Saw" last night with Jon and Tim. Awesome movie. Go see it! "Saw" has the best ending of any movie I have seen.

And just incase you didn't know. I am going to see Relient K tomorrow! WORD!!!!

I am really can't wait to see them. I have had times whenever I could of gone and see them..but...sometimes things don't go as planned. BUT NOT THIS TIME!!!! Jon, I, Alissa, and Micheal are going and it's going to rock!

But the greatest thing this week is going to go home and see my family! I miss them so much. I miss my bros, my mom and my grandmother. I also miss my pets; Cookie, Tiger, and Troy!!!!

But then...coming Sat., I get to go to aTm and see Shannon!!! Word to all your mothers! We are going to a Aggie game and then going to FREEBIRDS!!! Hope to see some of my friends as well whenever I get there.

Thanks for all of you who replied to my last post. Makes me want to wish all of you were here with me. Sorry that it was depressing, but I had to get it out.

Well, take care and God Bless. Next time I blog will be whenever I get back from the Relient k concert. Look for photos!

Much Love!

"Let That Be Enough"

"Wish I had what I needed
To be on my own
Cause I feel so defeated
And I’m feeling alone
And it all seems so helpless
And I have no plans I’m a plane in the sunset
With no where to land
And all I see It could never make me happy
And all my sandcastles Spend their time collapsing

Let me know that you hear me
Let me know your touch
Let me know that you love me
Let that be enough

It’s my birthday tomorrow
No one here could know
I was born this thursday
Twenty-two years ago
And I feel stuck watching history repeating
Oh am I just a kid who knows he’s needy?

Let me know that you hear me
Let me know your touch
Let me know that you love me
Let that be enough

Let me know that you hear me
Let me know your touch
Let me know that you love me
Let that be enough"

-Switchfoot

The Hard Times

So what can I say....

One of those nights again.

And I don't like it at all..

Not one bit.

Whenever it feels like everything is fine...something feels like pulling me down.

I just backspaced everything that has been going wrong..and I thought to myself. "Why would people want to read this post?"

Why did I want to show you all those things? I don't want to seem like I am weak or make it look like I want sympathy.

But I don't want to talk to my mom cause I don't want her to worry about me.
I don't want to tell my friends cause I don't want them to think I am weak.

I just wish that everything would go as planned.

I wish sooo many things...3 wishes wouldn't be enough.

I miss everything

My family
My friends
The friends that I've lost
Miss the Corps of Cadets
Miss the AC Jazz Band
Miss Shannon
Miss my dad

I miss my comfort zone.

I've been talking to my cousin, Juju, alot. (Ever since the trip to New York my senior year for the winter break) I love that man. And he's been going through alot. (Pray for him) It took me a while to tell him what I was going to say. But he already knew what I was going to say. He knew that I was going to say that I've been selfish for trying to make him my father figure.

But he told me something that just makes me sad...

He told me that I am the best. That out of everyone in the family...I am one of a kind. That I have such a big heart. And for a guy to go through so much..for a guy to lose so much...I still give so much.

So.....

that's it...

Another day at work....

Yeah right it was!

I met Matt Hoopes of Relient K two days ago. He walked right pass me whenever I was helping a custormer. At first I didn't believe what I saw, but I stood there going..

"nah..that couldn't be...but it did look like..nah"

I turned around and for sure...it was him. I just went up there and started talking to him and told him that I was going to see them next week. I told him that I had to get back to work and he asked where I department I worked at and I told him with all the digital cameras and camcorders. He said that he will be there in a little while. This guy was so cool. He got ink for his printer and the new Tiger Woods game for the PS2. We talked about 20 minutes and it was great.

So yeah..I met Matt Hoopes. And for all you punks that don't believe me ...here is proof. He signed a cd! WORD TO ALL YOUR MOTHERS!

P.S.
That was the short version..cause I know that my blogs can get pretty long.

A meeting at Best Buy

You all know that I work at Best Buy. I work in the Digital Cameras and Camcorders. So everyday I just greet custormers and ask if they need help. And everyday I get the answer "No..I am good..thanks for asking though." or "yeah man...I don't know nothing about this stuff."

But something was different yesterday. I did everything right according to the books. But this time the custormer helped me out.

His name is Wayne. While I was checking him out with all the stuff he bought, he took a look at my tattoo on my wrist. He asked me what it was. I told him that it is my christian fish. He asked me if I was a christian. And I said yes. He asked if I know the real name of my tattoo and what it meant be in the day.

He said it is called "ICHTHUS". People wore this to identify themselfs as christians. Whenever they traveled...if they met someone...and wondered if they were christian, they would draw half of the fish and the other would draw the other half. "ICHTHUS" is an acrostic for "Jesus Christ, of God, the Son, the Savior" [Iesous (Jesus) CHristos (Christ) THeou (of God) Uiou (the Son) Soter (the Savior)] I felt really bad for not knowing what it meant. I knew that it was a way of saying you were a christian, but not the true meaning.

He asked me if I wittnessed to anyone. I told him that I was weak in that area. That I really didn't know how to do it. I'm a person that is scared of rejection.

So we talked some more about life...and everything else that came with it. I told him he needed to come more often just to talk. He said now he has a reason to come to Best Buy. Good stuff!

That's the short version of what happened.
