the night that rocked my socks off!!!!

ok...for starters, i am not, in any form or fashion, boasting here. I am just very excited about what happened last night!!!

ok..here we go!!

last night was the show w/ jon. it turned out really good. about 40 to 50 people showed up.

the last song was my fav. for me. cool little acoustic rock song. At the end of the song, we all got solos. and then we ended it pretty big.

so, whenever we finished, I always like to tell the band "good job" and all that jazz. so, I see this oldish kinda man go to each member of the band saying "good job" and all that jazz :P, I was the last one he came too. He said that he loved my attitued and to never change it. that he enjoyed watching me play..and all that jazz! (man I love that pharse) I told him thanks.

AND GET THIS!!!

My friend, Patrick, (the next john mayer) came up and told me that he loved my solo and asked me if I know who that was. I was like "nope". He was like, "dude, that was the president of Belmont, President Fisher! " I FREAKED!!!!! I was like "WHAT?!?!" and then patrick told me that he was talking about me the whole entire time. I was like "No way!" and Tim was like "for reals man...that was him" Patrick told me to go tell him that I didn't go to school and that I am interested. I didn't know what to do.

SO....

I was making my way to the back where he was talking to the sound people. I told him that I am sorry that I didn't know who he was. he said that it didn't matter right now cause you were amazing! the sound guy was like "he's right man....awesome job play and on the solo" so...I told President Fisher that I didn't go to school and that I was really interested in going to belmont. he asked me if I was going to school, and I told him that I was going to Texas A&M, but I moved here to play drums.

NOW TRY THIS ON FOR SIZE!!!!!!!

so he get's his wallet!!!! and pulls out his card!!!!! and gives it to me!!!! and tells me that whenever you started applieing to give his office a call and to see what he can do, cause i have connections. I was like "no freaking duh!!!! you are the president!" :D "Hope to hear from you"! oh yes Mr. President you will!!!!!!

AHHHHHHH!!!!! I AM SO STOKED!!!!

so yeah...that was amazing! I am still not over it.

OK...

butit's not over!!!! :D

while tearing down my drum set. the head sound guy was getting his mics and stuff. I told him sorry for stepping on the mics. he said it was cool. and then he asked me how long have i been playing. I said "roughly since I was 6 or 7"
"do you do any studio work?"
"dude, I love doing studio work. I been doing some here w/ some students for their projects"
"sweet. I have a studio at home and I like to do demos and stuff for people. you think you can come out there and lay down the drum tracks whenever I have people out there?
"man...I would love to!"
"sweet...befor you leave, get me so I can have your number."
"no problem man...thanks man for asking man.!
"it's cool. you look like you get your stuff down"
"trying man...trying"

SO yeah...I am going to be a studio drummer for this guy! pretty saweet. even get paid for it too! that's a bonus!

BUT GOD KEEPS ON GIVING!!!!

I invited the guy that I recorded w/ a couple of nights ago to come check outthe show. He came w/ his family. They are cool people. but his kid is amazing. he loves playing the drums. anyways, he gave me a cd after the show and told me that he would like me to play drums for his recording! I was like "word man" "sign me up!"

Driving home, I was thanking God. For giving me this ability. For giving me these chances to play and record. I was thankful for Him making me a man of feeling too. (Go to my archive for the month of September and you'll know what I am talking about. Name of it is "beautiful". Nattie, you should check it out...you'll like it! promise!!!)

GOD IS AMAZING! I am just wanting His will. Nothing more

now...back to cleaning my room! Fun!

oh...befor I go though...the other band were pretty good.

second band...there was this chick that was amzing on the acoustic guitar! AMAZING!!!

but the last band was awesome! like...for realz...got the whole place dancing and people where clapping and everything. I was all smiles and laughing. I loved it!

ok...now I am out!

Later!

WOW EDWIN!!!! That is AMAZING!!!! God is SOOO cool...I am glad that you stepped out of your comfort zone, out of your house, out of your town, and took a chance with God. The risk of leaving Lufkin was totally worth the opportunities, huh!?!
